What components do builders and dealers specify most for entryway and mudroom projects? With an in-house design and millwork team, storage can be configured to the traffic-flow and program requirements of the space, a level of fit no stock bench-and-shelf unit can match.
These are the foyer storage solutions that give you the most bang for your buck, and each one can be combined with storage cabinetry or laundry room cabinets when the two rooms share a wall.
The Benefits Of Custom Cabinetry
The entry is the hardest-working few feet of any building. Cabinetry manufactured to AWI-standard construction keeps it organized, durable and consistent across every unit on an order.
Scribed to the walls, matched to existing trim and topped with crown molding on request, not a bench-and-shelf unit dropped in place.
Cubbies, hooks and drawer banks are specified to catch shoes, bags and coats at the door, keeping clutter out of adjoining rooms on the plan.
Hook heights, cubby depths and drawer placement are specified to the project, multifamily, hospitality or single-family, rather than a single fixed layout.
Recessed bowl openings, treat and leash drawers and wipeable surfaces at floor level can be added to a bench spec for projects that call for them.
Wood species, paint color, door style and hardware are selected per spec and finish-matched across every unit in the order.
Design, millwork, finishing and installation support are all in-house at our Las Vegas facility, from first measurement to crew-ready delivery.

Details & Style Options
Materials, color, style and hardware are specified per project. These are the details requested most often on trade orders, combine them to match the scope of the build.
Inside The Build
A recessed backer provides seating without adding floor depth, while under-seat cubbies hold shoes and gear. Hooks, shelves and crown molding are configured per spec and manufactured to a set of shop drawings rather than pulled off a stock shelf.
Open cubbies are specified for high-traffic, multifamily or family-occupancy units, bulky items load fast without a door to manage. Long vertical cubbies handle jackets and gear, and drawers below the bench close out smaller storage.
An L-shaped bench adds seating capacity for wider entries. Pet bowl and treat storage can be built alongside shoe and gear cubbies, finished with shaker doors matched to the rest of the unit run.
Not every floor plan includes a dedicated mudroom. An integrated bench using shiplap, floating shelves and crown molding can be specified into a kitchen or back-hallway layout so the drop zone reads as part of the cabinetry package.
Materials & Finishes
Entries take more wear than any other point of a building. We specify materials and finishes rated for that traffic and finish-match them to existing trim and flooring across the order.

How It Works
One accountable shop from the first measurement to crew-ready delivery on the jobsite.
We walk the entry, account for occupancy, storage volume and traffic patterns, and map the path from the door so the layout performs at peak use.
Week 1
CAD drawings show hook heights, cubby sizes, drawer placement and door styles so you approve the design before a board is cut.
Week 1–2
Your built-ins are cut, assembled and hand-finished on Cameron Street using the millwork techniques we've refined since 1988.
Weeks 2–4
Our installers scribe to the walls, set benches, doors, drawers and hooks, then walk the finished entry with you.

An entryway or foyer built-in is the version guests see, so it leans more decorative: closed doors, drawers, a bench seat, sometimes a mirror or display shelf. We build both, and often blend them when one door does both jobs.
